 Stephanie Van Auken has always shown great artistic talent since she was little when it came to the concept of design. If an idea could be created, she would find a way to bring it to life. Deciding to take her talents and training to the next level, Stephanie enrolled in the Graphic Design program at the local community college in 2002, where she majored Graphic Design. During her time there, she successfully completed studies in Art History 1, Art History II, Drawing I, Drawing II, Design I, Design II, Intro to Computer Graphics, and Visual Design for the Web, all part of her degree requirement. In 2005, she took a hiatus from her studies to gain some experience in the field as well as deciding to move to the Midwest. In 2007, Stephanie enlisted in the Visual Publications program at SCC for her Associates. Drawing on her previous experience and knowledge, has given her an edge in her current training.
Interest in Stephanie's work has taken an increase in the past few months, mainly with her photography. Her photographic vision focuses on the beauty of the unusual, forgotten, bizarre, or concepts that many do not give much thought about, causing them to see things in a new way. It is by bringing these subjects to light, that has received attention by others. Examples of this can be found in the portfolio section. In 2009, Stephanie was accepted to the
Art Institute of Pittsburgh, in which she is working on her Bachelor's in Photography.
Stephanie's artistic talents also lie in creating eye catching graphics through the use of aesthetics, abstraction, texture and light refraction. Stephanie has worked on a variety of projects in the past, such as Graphic Artist for SickAmongthePure, and as the graphic designer & webmaster for Phoenix Rising Ezine.
